Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen, Union Berlin, VfB Stuttgart and Hamburger SV have all ‘made initial enquiries’ about signing Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga this summer.

That’s according to Fussball Transfers, who say Tottenham would be willing to sell for a figure between €11.5m and €13.8m.

They explain that this season has been ‘anything but sparkling’ for Tanganga, who has managed less than 350 minutes of action across the campaign.

They’ve been made aware that Spurs are open to a deal for their youth product and value him somewhere between €11.5m and €13.8m.

That figure rules out the likes of HSV, who would find it a difficult price to pay in the event of promotion to the Bundesliga, but the rest are all open to a deal at that price.

They will need to convince Tanganga, though, as a move to Germany would ‘only be second choice’ for the defender if he does leave Tottenham this summer.

That’s because there are ‘numerous Premier League clubs’ and he’d prefer to remain in England than move abroad. Thus, the Bundesliga clubs would need to ‘come up with particularly attractive offers’ to get him.

In sporting terms, Union Berlin would have the best chances but only if they qualify for the Champions League, but all five clubs need new central defenders this summer nonetheless, and have been in contact about potentially getting Tanganga from Tottenham because of that.
