America today holds the status of a superpower in the world. The cooperation of many people has been behind this country becoming a super power. Some of these have been Americans and some have been citizens of other countries, who later became Americans. Scientists from another country are also behind America’s success in space. Especially a scientist from a country which was once a staunch enemy of America. Actually, we are talking about Germany. Let us tell you how a Nazi took America to the surface of the moon.

Did this happen with Hitler’s help?

To put it bluntly, no. Yes, it is true that the scientist who took America with humans to the lunar surface was once very close to Hitler. Leave alone this scientist, the entire world once recognized him as a staunch Nazi soldier. However, later this scientist goes to America and takes the American space agency NASA to great heights. In return, America not only gives money and power to this scientist, but also gives him American citizenship.

Who was this scientist?

The name of the scientist we are talking about was Wernher von Braun. This person was born in a rich family of Germany, but his passion for space made him the mastermind of this field. It all starts when Wernher von Braun was only 13 years old. His mother gives him a telescope on his birthday, this telescope gave wings to Wernher von Braun’s dreams of seeing the sky.

Later, to give flight to his dreams, he took admission in Aeronautical Engineering at the Institute of Technology, Berlin at the age of 17. At the age of just 18, he took admission in the German Rocket Society – VFR (Verein für Raumschifffahrt), making liquid-fuel rocket construction the main objective of his life. From here his closeness with Hitler started increasing and then he became one of Hitler’s most favorite people.

How to reach America and visit NASA

After 1945, when the Second World War was in its final stages and Germany was facing defeat on every front, America made a plan to give shelter to all of Hitler’s best brains in America. For this, he ran an operation called ‘Operation Paperclip’, through this America called Wernher von Braun and a large number of other German scientists to America.

After this, the same team launched the first V-2 for America on April 16, 1946 and took America’s space mission to new heights. After this, when America established NASA in 1955, Wernher von Braun was sent here and then what happened in 1969 became an example for the world. Actually, on July 20 this year, Neil Armstrong reached the surface of the moon.
